Appeal for witnesses following sexual assault in Wirral

We are appealing for witnesses after a woman reported she was sexually assaulted in Wirral on Saturday night (12th January).

We were contacted at around 11pm after the woman was approached from behind by an unknown male and assaulted between Spital train station and Kinglass Road. The man then made off on a pushbike.

The woman was not injured but was left shaken by her ordeal.

The man is described as being white, in his late 20s or early 30s, of skinny build with a shaved head and stubble. He was wearing a blue hooded top.

Detective Inspector Tara Denn said: "The investigation is in its early stages but I would appeal to anyone who was in the vicinity of Spital station at around 11pm on Saturday night or saw a man fitting the description to contact us."

Anyone with information is asked to DM @MerpolCC or 101 or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
