Witness appeal to find two lorry drivers following fatal road traffic collision in Walton

Roads Policing officers investigating a fatal road traffic collision in Walton last night (Friday 25 January) are issuing a new witness appeal to identify the drivers of two articulated lorries who may hold crucial evidence.

At 10.05pm, emergency services were called to the junction of Queens Drive and Grandison Road / Stanley Park Avenue North to reports of a collision between an Audi S3 and a Ford Fiesta. The driver of the Ford Fiesta, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital where he was sadly pronounced deceased. An extensive investigation continues.

The lorries are described as follows:

The first vehicle is described as a curtain-sided articulated lorry with a red/orange cab, and a blue trailer with the word ‘Palletline’ running across the length of the trailer.

The second vehicle is described as a curtain-sided articulated lorry with a white cab, with the writing ‘Goodfellas’ along the length of the trailer.

Roads Policing Constable Darran Doyle said: “We are urgently looking to trace these drivers, as we are hopeful that their recorded dashcam footage will have captured this tragic collision or some of the vehicles prior to the collision. Extensive enquiries to identify these lorries have so far proved negative and any assistance from the public will be gratefully received and swiftly acted upon.

“Likewise, if you were in any vehicle, live locally or were passing by on foot and saw the incident, we need to hear from you now.”

These drivers, and anyone with information, are asked to contact our Roads Policing Unit on (0151) 777 5747, or you can message our social media desk @MerpolCC on Twitter or Facebook, or give us information anonymously via the independent charity @CrimestoppersUK on 0800 555 111.
