Appeal after man seriously assaulted in Woolwich

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following an assault in Woolwich.

Officers were called at approximately 03:25hrs on Sunday, 17 March to reports of a 35-year-old man assaulted close to the bus stop outside Woolwich library in Wellington Street, SE18.

London Ambulance Service attended and the man was taken to hospital for treatment – he remains there in a critical condition receiving treatment.

The suspect is described as a Black man, around 5ft 10” tall and was wearing dark clothing,

Anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident, or anyone who was assist the investigation is asked to call Serious and Complex Crime team based at Lewisham via 101 – please quote 01/99520/24.
