Conditions for protest on 11th October
We have imposed conditions under the Public Order Act to prevent serious disruption at a demonstration in London this weekend.
Conditions have been imposed on the demonstration organised by the Palestine Coalition, which includes the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, Stop the War and other groups, to ensure that everyone can demonstrate safely, while preventing serious disruption to the local community. We are aware of proposals from the Government for future changes to legislation to grant police powers to place conditions on or prevent repeat protests, but, at this time, the law remains unchanged. We will work with the Home Office as their proposals develop.
The demonstration will form up in Victoria Embankment and march across Westminster Bridge before proceeding to Whitehall, via Waterloo Bridge and the Strand.
Anyone gathering ahead of the demonstration must remain in the shaded area on the map below.
Anyone participating in the march must follow the specified route below.
There will be an assembly in Whitehall where speeches will take place. Attendees must remain in the shaded area below. The assembly must conclude by 17:30hrs.
We are expecting a counter protest organised by Stop The Hate to take place. This demonstration will be held at the junction of Aldwych and the Strand and anyone attending must remain in the shaded area below.
