Man charged with Earls Court murder
Detectives investigating the murder of a woman in Earls Court have charged a man.
Police were called at around 11:15hrs on Wednesday, 10 December to concerns for the welfare of a woman at an address on Old Brompton Road, SW5.
Officers attended and sadly found the body of Xiaoqing Ke, 39, inside the property. She was a Chinese national. Her family, who live in China, have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
A post-mortem confirmed that she died as a result of stab wounds.
Deepak Sandhu, 23 (28/12/2001), of Newlands Avenue, Southampton, has been charged with murder. He was remanded in custody and will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 15 December.
A second man, aged 47, was arrested in relation to the investigation and has been bailed pending further enquiries.
Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley, who is leading the investigation, said:
“Our thoughts remain with Xiaoqing’s family at this incredibly difficult time. While a man has now been charged, our investigation continues, and we urge anyone with information who has not yet spoken to us to come forward.”
