Murder investigation launched after man dies in Kilburn

A murder investigation has been launched after a man was fatally stabbed in Kilburn.

Police were called at around 20:50hrs on Tuesday, 26 May to a report of a large altercation on Ashmore Road, W9.

Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service. A man, believed to be in his 20s, was treated for a stab wound but was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next-of-kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

An investigation has been launched by homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command. No arrests have been made at this time and enquiries are ongoing.

Detective Chief Superintendent Christina Jessah, who leads policing in the area, said:

“My thoughts remain with the family of the man who has sadly lost his life overnight.

“Homicide detectives are investigating this tragic case. I would urge anyone who has information about what happened or video footage that could assist the investigation to please get in touch with police.

“I know the concerns that the community will have after this awful incident. There will be a significantly increased police presence in the area while enquiries continue, and I would ask that anyone who has concerns – or has information that could assist detectives – to speak to my officers.”
