UPDATE: Man charged over Churchill statue damage
A man has been charged with criminal damage after graffiti was sprayed on the statue of Winston Churchill in Parliament Square.
Caspar San Giorgio, 38 (21.05.87), of no fixed address, was arrested shortly after 04.00hrs on Friday, 27 February.
He was taken into custody and charged at 03:50hrs on Saturday, 28 February.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge when he appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Monday, 2 March.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Southwark Crown Court on 30 March.
