Witness appeal after collision in Wandsworth
Officers have issued an appeal for witnesses after a serious collision in Wandsworth.
Police were called to Wandsworth Bridge Road, near the junction with Pier Terrace, at 19:32hrs on Monday, 16 February to reports of a collision between a Jaecoo Pure 5 car and a pedestrian.
The pedestrian, a 21-year-old man, suffered serious injuries that are believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. He was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service, where he remains. His next-of-kin are being supported by specialist officers.
The driver of the car, a 36-year-old man, and his passenger, a 30-year-old woman, were arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. They remain in police custody.
Detectives from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit have launched an investigation.
Detective Sergeant Davina Nash said:
“This is a serious collision where the victim suffered life-threatening injuries. My thoughts remain with him and his loved ones.
“I would like to appeal to anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident, or who has dashcam footage that could help our enquiries, to get in touch with us.”
