Muraspec acquires Calcutta NV

Muraspec, leading UK manufacturer and worldwide distributor of wallcoverings, fabrics and other interior decorative products, is proud to announce the acquisition of the oldest operational Belgian textile mill, Calcutta NV.

The Muraspec name is well recognised worldwide for the quality of its products, innovation, excellent customer service, global reach and care for the environment.

Calcutta NV, with its production plant near the city of Ghent in Belgium, is well known globally as a producer of high quality textile wallcoverings and sun protection systems. Calcutta supplies materials to household name brands internationally with its innovative and stunning products.

Calcutta, which was established in 1848, will continue to operate as separate entity under the Muraspec umbrella.

Tariq Rashid, Managing Director of Muraspec, said that Muraspec is “delighted with this acquisition, which is part of the Group's strategy to bring a wider choice of decorative products to the interiors market.
