Oh Come All Ye (Un)Grateful

According to statistics released today, Brits have traded in a record number of unwanted Christmas gifts. musicMagpie.co.uk, Europe’s number one cash for CDs, DVDs and games website, saw 409,868 entertainment products sold on Christmas Day and another 534,113 on Boxing Day from ungrateful recipients. The figures also highlight the most traded titles over the festive period, with CDs such as U2 & Lady Gaga and DVDs including Dirty Dancing & The Goonies topping the bill.

Eren Ozagir, Chief Marketing Officer of musicMagpie says: “In-between Christmas and New Year is always a very busy time for us, especially Boxing Day, as people rush to get rid of unwanted entertainment presents. Most people have experienced a time when they’ve opened a gift which wasn’t on their list, especially a CD, DVD or game that they already have or isn’t to their taste. musicMagpie provides the solution without that awkward moment of asking a family member for the receipt. It also gives people a chance to de-clutter and make space for all the new presents in their homes.”

“This has been our busiest year yet, and we anticipate an equally busy January as people continue to sell their unwanted items.”
