As part of our efforts to provide essential housing to address the national housing emergency and to support ongoing investment in the regeneration of Possilpark, ng homes has secured funding to refurbish and upgrade buildings on Stonyhurst Street. The buildings are currently empty as they require extensive refurbishment to bring the homes up to modern standards and ensure they are safe, warm and energy efficient. Once complete, the buildings will provide a number of homes for rent. Our focus is on progressing the refurbishment as quickly as possible so the homes can be brought back into use. We are aware of misinformation circulating about who will be allocated these properties in Stonyhurst Street. We would like to reassure applicants and the wider community that homes will only be allocated in line with our Allocations Policy from our existing housing list. We are aware of claims that we are housing people who are in the UK illegally. This is incorrect. As a registered social landlord, we allocate homes in line with Scottish housing legislation and our Allocations Policy. We do not allocate housing to people who are not legally eligible for it, and all applications are assessed in accordance with the relevant legal requirements.
