  • Norwegian reports a 189 MNOK profit for 2010

    Norwegian reports a net profit of 189 MNOK for 2010. The airline carried more than 13 million passengers last year, an increase of 21 percent compared to the previous year. In the fourth quarter the company’s net result after taxes was -5,4 MNOK, strongly influenced by soaring fuel prices.

    Norwegian´s first aircraft, featuring the brand new Boeing Sky Interior, arrived in Oslo, Norway Friday morning. The new interior will increase passenger comfort considerably. Fifty-nine aircraft featuring the new interior will be delivered to the airline between 2011 and 2016.

    Norwegian has completed sale and leaseback agreements for a total of four Boeing 737-800 with deliveries during first quarter 2011. The sale and leaseback transactions are in line with the company’s long term strategy to diversify the financing of the 63 aircraft Boeing order.

    Norwegian continues to experience a considerable passenger growth in November. Close to 1.1 million passengers flew with the airline in November, a 16 percent increase compared to the same month last year. The load factor is better than last year, despite strong increase in capacity.
