Natural & Organic Awards Scandinavia 2019: Winners announced

Celebrating the outstanding achievements of Scandinavia’s best natural, organic and sustainable retailers and suppliers, Eco Life Scandinavia and the Nordic Organic Food Fair have revealed the winners of its annual Natural & Organic Awards Scandinavia 2019, at MalmöMässan, Sweden, last week on 13 November.

New innovations from WellAware Nutrition, Raw & Wild, Sweden Eco, The Ferment Project, Arctic Vita, Apimab, Cordero Organic, Hanegal, Nurme, and Supergarden scored top marks with visitors and judges at the prestigious awards, which were presented by Johan Cejie, CEO of Moreganic Sourcing, and Diversified Communications UK managing director, Carsten Holm (TV personality Tony Irving and Rosie Greenaway, editor of Natural Products Magazine, presented the beauty awards).

Coop Danmark was crowned Organic Retailer of the Year and Life Europe AB was awarded the first Natural Retailer of the Year. Both of these prestigious accolades celebrate the vital role that retailers play in bringing natural and organic brands to consumers – growing the market and taking the sector from niche to mainstream.

The product finalists – selected from 100 product innovations across beauty, health, food and eco-living categories – were decided by buyers and retailers from across the Nordic region and beyond. Visitors casted their votes at the Natural & Organic Awards Scandinavia Showcase on the opening day of the show (13 November). A portion of the votes were also cast via the website in a new online awards showcase page, and the 11 winners were confirmed by expert judges Dr. Hana Mušinović, regulatory and scientific manager at NATRUE (for beauty, health and eco-living), and Mie Nordly, commercial manager at Vegetarian Society of Denmark (vegan).
