Big Appliances introduces its new Smeg fridge freezer range

Purfleet, Essex (mynewsdesk), August 19 2010 – Legendary Essex white goods supplier Big Appliances, whose family run kitchen clobber outfit has been ministering to the refrigeration and freezing needs of the British public since 1964, has just revealed that it will be exclusively stocking the fabulous new range of Smeg fridge freezers: the Smeg fab32 fridge freezer; the Smeg fab30 fridge freezer; and the Smeg fab28 fridge freezer. All of which have been designed to hark back to the groovy happening times when even Big Appliances was only a twinkle in the milkman’s eye – their fab 50s lines and impeccable retro styling, Big Appliances reckon, guaranteed to make them a huge hit in any fashion conscious household. Remember the good old days? When puppets on strings charged around a TV screen that only had four channels, and fridge freezers looked like something out of an American TV show? No? Well, you’re about to.

It’s universally acknowledged that advertising, product design and consumer desire converge on historically “happier” times when recession hits. Big Appliances know it, Smeg know it: and when Big Appliances loyal fans get a look at the Smeg fab32 fridge freezer, the Smeg fab30 fridge freezer and the Smeg fab28 fridge freezer, they’re going to fall right in line with it too. When the present seems like a bad idea, the past is a pretty good recourse. And Smeg are going to be taking us all there, in spades.

Smeg’s latest line of fridge freezers have an amazing capacity – with the fab32 having a 320 litre capacity, the 30 having a 300 litre capacity, and so on. That, as Big Appliances’ spokes person is quick to point out, is a lot of refrigeration and freezer space, wrapped in what might be the most beautiful package we’ve ever seen. Without going back in time, that is. The Smeg fab32 fridge freezer, Smeg fab30 fridge freezer and Smeg fab28 fridge freezer, even from their enlargeable snaps on the Big Appliances site, are gloriously bright, wonderfully smooth and possessed of that ineffable Smeg charm – the sort of look that says “I’m as good at freezing stuff as I am at looking pretty”.

Every one of the new Smeg fridge freezers oozes class – a class that doesn’t fade when you take a look around the options each one brings to the kitchen. Smeg’s fab range is available as either left hand or right hand hinged, meaning every kitchen can have one no matter what its existing layout. They’re all on an A rating for energy (that’s the best); and, like all Smeg products, available in a range of eye popping retro colours that, frankly, look better than most cars. Big Appliances will be stocking the Smeg fab32 fridge freezer, the Smeg fab30 fridge freezer and the Smeg fab28 fridge freezer in lime green; red; pink; pastel blue; black; cream; orange; and pastel green. One suspects, once customers get a load of them in the flesh, they’re going to have trouble holding onto that stock for more than a few days.
