London, UK: Orca Digital is now the UK’s largest supplier of voice short-codes, eclipsing established mobile and telecoms companies in revenue terms. Voice short-codes enable companies to offer their customers a memorable 5-digit number to call from mobiles.

Voice short-codes are growing fast in the UK – and companies who want to engage with their customers via mobile cannot afford to ignore them. Key advantages include transparent pricing – removing the need for ‘calls from mobile will cost considerably more’ - and the ability to offer either premium rate services or zero-rated services (free to consumers). This is the first time that companies have been able to pay for the cost of calls from mobiles on behalf of their customers – ‘free’ 0800 numbers are typically charged at a high rate from mobiles.
