Press release —
Easter traffic message
In connection with the Easter holiday, Oslo Airport is expecting significant departure traffic on Thursday, 21 March and Friday, 22 March. The number of passengers travelling is expected to be particularly high between 15:00 and 17:00 hours on both days.
Helpful hints for passengers
Passengers travelling with a lot of luggage or special baggage are urged to arrive at the airport well before departure. On Thursday and Friday afternoons, we recommend being at the airport two hours prior to departure, to make sure that passengers make their flights.
As regards luggage, we encourage all passengers to limit hand baggage, to pack as much as possible in their checked bags, and to be careful to avoid loose straps when packing ski bags, duffle bags and backpacks. This will also help facilitate check-in. As regards the security check, passengers can save time by not bringing liquids, knives or other objects that can be used as pointed weapons. Remember also to remove all PCs, iPads and camera equipment from cases when passing through the security checkpoint.
All passengers are encouraged to stay informed regarding departure times by checking with their airline, checking www.osl.no or downloading OSL's travel APP.
Our experience is that many families travel during Easter. Many also have quite a lot of luggage and ski equipment. OSL has therefore initiated extraordinary measures to ensure that our Easter traffic moves as smoothly as possible.
• Full staffing and all security checkpoint lanes open (during the aforementioned times)
• Customer service personnel will be available to assist travellers in finding out where to go in the terminal
• Handling companies have been notified to have sufficient staffing at check-in counters and receiving special baggage
• Handling companies have been notified to have sufficient staffing to ensure smooth handling of arriving baggage.
• The airport will observe a high level of technical preparedness
