OXFORD BUS COMPANY ADJUSTS PARK&RIDE SERVICE IN RESPONSE TO LATEST COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS

Oxford Bus Company has temporarily suspended one of its park&ride services to better match supply to demand during the current COVID-19 lockdown.

The park&ride300 service connecting Pear Tree and Redbridge Park&Ride sites with Oxford city centre will be suspended from Sunday morning until further notice, due to current low passenger usage.

Normal timetables will continue for the park&ride400 service which serves Thornhill and Seacourt. Plus, the park&ride500 service which serves Oxford Parkway. Passengers wishing to travel to and from Redbridge Park&Ride will be able to use Thames Travel services X2 and ST1 or Oxford Bus Company City X3 services. These services provide up to 8 buses per hour Monday to Fridays, 6 buses per hour on Saturdays, and four buses per hour on Sundays to and from Oxford City Centre.

Pear Tree Park&Ride will temporarily close for the duration of the suspension. Customers are advised to use either Oxford Parkway or Seacourt as an alternative during this period. Park&Ride season tickets will be valid on all operational services for the duration of the adjusted services.

The changes are announced in response to COVID-19 with Oxford Bus Company and Thames Travel maintaining relevant networks and timetables to ensure essential key workers such as NHS staff, carers, teachers, and those in the food supply chain can get to and from work. Customers are advised to check the websites for full detail of new temporary timetables.

Oxford Bus Company and Thames Travel continue to maintain extensive cleaning regimes and high levels of hygiene to protect the health and well-being of passengers and colleagues.

Phil Southall, Oxford Bus Company and Thames Travel Managing Director, said: “We have adjusted some of our park&ride services in response to current reduced demand during the latest lockdown. We are better matching supply to demand and continuing to provide vital connectivity for key workers.
