OXFORD BUS COMPANY PROVIDE SHUTTLE SERVICE FOR UNITED’S BIG CARABAO CUP MATCH

Football fans attending Oxford United’s home match against West Ham United in the Carabao Cup can reach the Kassam Stadium via a special bus service.

The Oxford Bus Company has partnered with Oxford United to provide supporters with an additional bus service for the match on September 25^th. A Park & Ride service will provide fans with a free parking space at Unipart, off Garsington Road, and a shuttle bus service to Knights Road in Blackbird Leys, a short walk from the stadium. The shuttle bus will then take supporters back to the car park after the match.

Phil Southall, Oxford Bus Company Managing Director, said: “We have run a similar service in the past for matches were a big crowd was expected and it worked very well last season when United hosted Manchester City.

“The service helps alleviate congestion and parking pressures around the stadium and is being run at a very good value for money rate. We’re proud to support local sport in our community where we can and provide supporters with a convenient and value for money way to reach the stadium.”

Return tickets for the buses will cost just £2 for adults and £1 for concessions. The first bus departs Unipart at 5.45pm and the shuttle service will then run every 12 minutes until 7.33pm. After the match the buses will depart after the final whistle when full and provide a shuttle service thereafter. Tickets for the shuttle bus must be purchased in advance via Oxford United and they will not be available to buy on the night.

The OX3 Football Special bus will be operating as normal from Carterton, Brize Norton, Witney and Eynsham with the OX7 operating from Kidlington, Summertown, Marston and Headington.
