Oxford University Press to publish Political Science Quarterly

Oxford University Press (OUP) is pleased to announce a new agreement with the Academy of Political Science (APS) to publish its journal, Political Science Quarterly (PSQ), from 01 January 2023. In publication since 1886, Political Science Quarterly  is a major political science journal that publishes articles and book reviews on government, politics, public policy, and foreign relations. The addition of PSQ will expand OUP’s diverse academic journal portfolio to more than 500 journals.

As part of the agreement, OUP will work in close collaboration with PSQ to further expand the journal’s author network and diversify its readership, as well as explore the scope for a greater focus on Open Access publishing.

Broad in subject matter, PSQ has no ideological or preferred methodological orientation and is edited with consideration for accessibility to not only scholars but also to general readers who have a serious interest in public and foreign affairs. The journal’s editorial board includes world-class political science and social science scholars from a wide range of universities and think tanks.

Speaking about the agreement, Sarah Levine, OUP Humanities and Social Science Publisher, said: “OUP is thrilled to collaborate with the Academy by publishing Political Science Quarterly and supporting the growth of the journal as it extends its prestigious history into the future. We share a commitment with the Academy to work with a diverse pool of authors from across the world and at different stages of their careers, which we believe will continue to make the journal home for debates that energize the field and inform policy.”

Robert Y. Shapiro, Political Science Quarterly Editor, said: "We are excited about our new partnership with one of the world's more important and widely regarded academic publishers. Our journal has a very long tradition and reputation, and we continue to look forward, more so than ever, to publishing a wide range of academic and policy-relevant work by new generations of diverse and international authors."

PSQ readers can register for email alerts from OUP to keep up with new issues and articles.
