In its fourth consecutive year, the conference is set to host English language teachers from over 150 countries. The practical learning sessions will be based on the conference’s central themes, which include climate action in ELT, digital learning and classroom management, with the aim of supporting teachers in understanding and engaging with current trends to improve the learning experience for their students.

The two-day event, which will run between 4 - 5 March, will help attendees to connect with English Language Teaching experts, learn about trending teaching topics and grow personally and professionally as part of a global community.

The speakers attending ELTOC 2022 are leaders in their respective areas of English language teaching and include Harry Waters, Teacher and Trainer at Renewable English, Sarah Rogerson, Director of Assessment, OUP, Ed Dudley, Teacher Trainer and Materials Writer, Tammy Gregersen, Professor of TESOL at the American University of Sharjah and Author, and Nik Peachy, Director of Pedagogy PeacheyPublications and Author, amongst many others.

Speaking on the importance of the event, Peter Marshall, Managing Director of OUP’s English Language Teaching division said: “As teachers across the globe seek to manage digital learning and engage with the world’s most pressing topics, such as climate change and digitization, international conferences like ELTOC offer an important opportunity for educators to develop their teaching methods and ultimately support their students during this period of widespread change.”

Sarah Ultsch, Marketing Director of OUP’s English Language Teaching division, and founder of ELTOC said: “The ways in which language is taught has evolved during the pandemic through new, technology-enabled practice, and many instructors are designing what language teaching now looks like in their classrooms. With this as a core focus for ELTOC 2022, we are once again proud to offer our global attendees practical learning sessions and the opportunity to network with one another, with the goal of improving learning outcomes for all.”

Commenting on the benefits of focusing on climate action in ELT, Harry Walter, guest speaker and Teacher at Renewable English said: “I am looking forward to combining my passion for teaching and knowledge on the planet to contribute at ELTOC 2022. It is becoming increasingly important that today’s language teachers are well equipped to teach and communicate on an issue that will continue to be one of our biggest challenges as a society.”
