Jean-Charles de Castelbajac chooses Panagora e-commerce solutions for their diffusion brand JC/DC by JC de Castelbajac

Stockholm, August 2010 - Panagora has been entrusted to build the French fashion house Jean-Charles de Castelbajac’s official online store for their diffusion brand JC/DC by JC de Castelbajac.

Jean-Charles de Castelbajac as a fashion brand was founded in 1978 and has designed clothes for Katy Perry, Beth Ditto, Lady Gaga and Beyoncé among others. The fashion rebel Jean-Charles de Castelbajac himself decided to have Panagora launch the company’s first online store.

- I saw the work they had done for Acne and thought it was very creative. Another reason why I chose them is because they are young guys - today, many use the Internet as if it is an old phenomenon, which I do not like. With Panagora I want to create something that is really different, new and creative, says Jean-Charles de Castelbajac.

Jean-Charles de Castelbajac is very interested in Sweden and Swedish fashion. He recently lectured at Borås University College of Textile from which he has also recruited two trainees.

- In Sweden, fashion is in line with democracy. It is not used to show how you rank in society or how much money you have. Swedish fashion is for everyone and this is a very generous point of view, says Jean-Charles de Castelbajac.

Panagora has created international online stores for the Swedish fashion industry since 2005. Clients include J Lindeberg, Nudie Jeans and Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair. Moon-Suck Song, CEO at Panagora, believes that their portfolio of previous work attracts foreign fashion companies.

- We have not marketed ourselves abroad, but the work that we have done for well-known Swedish fashion brands has attracted attention. We have been riding on the Swedish fashion wave and the fact that Swedes are well known for their Internet skills abroad. These are two of the reasons why we attract foreign customers, says Moon-Suck.

Jean-Charles de Castelbajac was a precursor towards the Internet, he quickly understood the huge potential of this democratic and creative media.

- The Internet is not only changing the fashion industry, it is changing the world. Earlier if you lived in a small town like Borås, or 30 kilometres outside of Paris, you had no access to beauty. Today everything is accessible via the Internet, says Jean Charles.

The JC/DC by JC de Castelbajac online store was launched this autumn.
