Panasonic extends its intelligent cooling range of Side-By-Side Fridge-Freezers

Panasonic has today announced the expansion of its 2013 range of Side-By-Side fridge-freezers, including the stainless steel NR-B53V2 with Anti-Fingerprint Coating and the Arctic White NR-B53VW2. Both products include Panasonic’s intelligent technology to maintain freshness of food and eliminate harmful bacteria while operating at an optimum energy efficiency level.

Storing food - the smart way

The Side-By-Side fridge freezers feature Panasonic’s Vitamin-Safe compartment, which is optimised to a high moisture level and equipped with an adjustable temperature gauge (between 0˚C - 5˚C) to prevent fruit and vegetables from drying out, thus helping to retain important vitamins. The Vitamin-Safe compartment also houses two flashing LED lights to simulate the blue and green hues of sunlight, activating the natural defences in fruit and vegetables which prevent vitamin loss. This simulation has been tested and certified by SLG, a renowned independent test laboratory. In addition, the 0˚C Fresh Case compartment maintains a chilled temperature and low moisture level creating the optimum environment for storing meat and fish.

Further features include Panasonic’s Hygiene Active, a combination of technologies that protect food from harmful bacteria. The system includes a combined lifetime air filter, air circulation and LED light system, which produces a natural anti-bacterial cleanser eliminating over 99.9999 percent of bacteria. The Hygiene Active system circulates cold, clean air from three different points throughout the fridge, creating a constant airflow for maximum hygiene.

The interior design of the NR-B53V2 and NR-B53VW2 offers increased storage space, including adjustable shelving and large storage compartments on both sides, as well as an integrated wine rack within the fridge.

Managing energy usage efficiently

The NR-B53V2 and NR-B53VW2 models operate at optimum energy efficiency ratings, thanks to Panasonic’s Inverter technology and Twin-Eco Cooling System. The Inverter technology uses a system of sensors and microprocessors to automatically select appropriate power levels, allowing the fridge-freezer to run on minimal power overnight and at times of low usage. This technology also enables operation at a low noise level, making them amongst the quietest in their class.

The fridge-freezers feature Panasonic’s U-Vacua vacuum insulation panel, an ultra-thin insulation sheet made from glass-fibre processed in a vacuum and with 20 times more insulation than traditional materials.

The Twin-Eco Cooling System on both models uses an EcoValve to close off the cooling circuit for the refrigerator when it is not needed, unlike traditional twin cooling systems, which cool both the fridge and the freezer at the same time. These innovative technologies have earned the Panasonic Side-By-Side series an A++ rating in the coveted EU energy efficiency standard.
