New AC plug connectors for photovoltaic systems

Press release -

New AC plug connectors for photovoltaic systems

Phoenix Contact is expanding its product portfolio of AC plug connectors for photovoltaic systems. The new three- and five-pole PRC series connects AC cables to inverters reliably and conveniently.

While the device plug connectors with crimp connections are delivered already pre-assembled with pre-connected wires, the rigid and flexible plug connector cables are connected using proven screw connections. The three-pole version is designed for currents up to 35 A, and the five-pole version handles up to 30 A. Both versions are approved for voltages up to 600 V and fulfil the high requirements of the IP68 protection class.

The plug connector locks automatically during insertion. To safeguard against unintentional disconnection, a tool is required to disconnect the plug connector from the device connector. The plug can also be protected using a safety seal. Phoenix Contact is expanding its PV plug connector product portfolio with these AC plug connectors specifically for inverter connections
