Samsung investigating limited internal storage of the Galaxy S4
On BBC’s Watchdog, the 16GB version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 was criticised after owners complained that only half of its on board memory could be used to store things like apps. According to the Korean tech giant, it is investigating the limited storage.
A Samsung spokesperson told CNET UK, ““We appreciate this issue being raised and we will improve our communications. Also, we are reviewing the possibility to secure more memory space through further software optimisation.
“Samsung is committed to listening to our customers and responding to their needs as part of our innovation process.”
This is a complete turnaround from what Samsung said earlier, wherein it claimed a lot of the phone’s internal memory was needed for “more powerful features.”
The Samsung Galaxy S4 is unlike the HTC One and the Apple iPhone 5, since it does come with a microSD slot that can accommodate as much as 64GB from a microSD card. The phone, however, will only allow owners to store things like videos, music, and photos. When it comes to apps, users would need to store them in the phone’s internal memory. Games, these days, can go over 1GB. This would mean that just a few games could easily use up all of your internal memory.
Samsung has made a 32 and 64 version of the Galaxy S4, but the two are yet to land in the UK. True, these two versions offer more memory, but may be too expensive for your taste. The 16GB version already costs a pocket-burning £550.
