Samsung are currently in the process of rolling out new Android updates for a host of their smartphone device but it looks as though users of one device in particular will be left disappointed. News has emerged this week that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, the company's popular phablet sized handset, may not be getting the most recent Android 4.2.2 update.
Android is currently the most popular mobile operating system in the world and the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is just one of dozens of devices that run on this platform. We are currently seeing version 4.2.2 of the software rolled out for many devices but news has emerged this week that
Samsung have cancelled the update for this model. The news comes courtesy of the Australian network Telstra who commented that the global update for the handset would not arrive. There also seems to be delays in other well known device getting their update. On a schedule published by Samsung it was revealed that the popular Galaxy S4 model cannot expect an update until August 19th and that testing of the software has only just begun. Just last week rumours circulated suggesting that the Note 2 and the Galaxy S3 would have to wait until later in the year before they would receive an update and now it looks as though it will not arrive at all.
The Android 4.2.2 update delivers a host of improvements and a number of bug fixes that will enhance the performance of handsets. Issues such as problems when playing audio track via Bluetooth have been corrected and new download notifications have been added. ALthough this news may disappoint many users of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 some experts have suggested that Apple will skip straight to the forthcoming 4.3 update for the model. There is however no official release date for this software and when we factor in the time it will take programmers at Samsung to customise the package consumers may still be in for a very long wait.
