The Samsung Galaxy S3 Offer Two Excellent New Features

As far as premium smartphones go the Samsung Galaxy S3 is one of the very best available. This new model will be at the top of many consumers wishlists thanks to some superb design and premium specification. As well as all of the usual features some new additions have been added to this model to help it appeal to a larger proportion of the public.

One of our favourite features on the new Samsung Galaxy S3 is S Voice. As you may guess this is the new voice recognition service that Samsung have been busy developing over the past few months. The manufacturers are hoping that the inclusion of this service will help the model to compete with the iPhone 4S, a model that sports the renowned Siri voice software. S Voice really does impress with the sheer number of functions that can be performed all by the users voice. Searching for multi media content and playing it back is very straightforward and requires a couple of simple instructions. As with most voice software most users will rely on them to perform simple tasks as more complex ones such as composing and sending e mails are often quicker when using the touchscreen. A great example of where S Voice is perfect is when setting an alarm or scheduling an appointment. Time well tell whether this service will prove as popular as Siri but the early signs are certainly encouraging.

If S Voice is about improving functionality on the Samsung Galaxy S3 then the new Smart Stay feature concentrates on the performance side of things. This new feature aims to improve the battery life on the phone by dimming the touchscreen when it is not in use. The way the device determines that the screen is not being viewed is by using some clever technology and the secondary camera. This camera tracks the movement of the users eyes and therefore can tell whether they are viewing the screen or not. If the screen is not being looked at then it can be automatically dimmed to preserve battery life. This is potentially a much more efficient system than having the screen time out after a designated period of time. When we used the S3 with Smart Stay activated we found that it worked very well and had great fun trying to trick the camera, without much luck. When lighting conditions were a little darker however we found that the software was not quite as effective. Despite this we feel that it is an innovative introduction that will find its way onto other models in the near future.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is one of the leading devices on the market and excellent features such as Smart Stay and S Voice really do enhance the appeal of this stunning new handset.
