8 Mega Pixel Cameras On The Motorola Razr And The HTC Sensation XL

The new Motorola Razr and the HTC Sensation XL are two flagship mobile phones that offer a range of excellent features. Previously we took a look at how these models compared for performance and screen technology. Here we look in a little more detail at the camera facilities offered on both phones and also see how both models compare in terms of design.

The quality of the modern smartphone camera is always improving so it is pleasing to see both of these models offering great photography packages. The Motorola Razr sports an 8 million pixel camera that captures a very high quality of image. A number of useful features accompany the camera that further enhance the results that you can expect. A dual LED flash is perfect for indoor shots whilst the clever face detection software is able to focus on peoples faces within a frame so you can always be assured of a clear and focused final product. Should you want to take control of the focusing yourself then the touch focus feature enables you to simply touch the area of the screen where you want your camera to focus and the phone will do the rest of the work. The HTC Sensation XL offers a similar camera package with 8 mega pixel quality together with an array of additional features. For photograph quality it is hard to differentiate between the two models but when you look at video capture this is a different matter. The Razr can capture video footage at a resolution of 1080P which equals the leading phones currently available. The HTC Sensation XL on the other hand still offers high definition quality but at the lower resolution of 720P. The result of this is that video footage looks clearer on the Razr and therefore pushes the model slightly ahead of the Sensation XL in terms of camera facilities.

There really is little to choose between these two phones when it comes to design with both devices offering stylish and eye catching looks. The Motorola Razris the slimmest mobile device that we have ever encountered. At just 7.1mm in depth it is hard to imagine that anybody could design a chassis that beats this one for size. The weight of 127 grammes ensures that despite the phones slim design it still feels relatively substantial and well built when you use it. The models combines a plastic body with some metallic elements that give the overall look a touch of class. Despite offering a much larger screen the HTC Sensation XL still manages to measure in at a surprisingly slim 9.9mm. The handset does weigh considerably more than the Razr at 162.5 grammes but it still offers a stylish design that is on a par with the Motorola. Once again the body combines a mix of plastic and metal that not only makes it look great but also gives the phone a premium feel.

As far as large screen smartphones go you will struggle to find two models better than the Motorola Razr and the HTC Sensation XL. Both of these phones boast a superb design and great multi media features although the Motorola eclipses the HTC in this area thanks to its full HD video capture.

The Motorola Razr and the HTC Sensation XL are available now.
