An Introduction To The Impressive New HTC Titan
HTC have released a range of new models running on the Windows 7 Mango operating system. Some of these models are your typical mid range smartphones but some models on the other hand are a little unexpected. One such device is the HTC Titan, a phone that packs in all the features you would expect to find such as a great camera and fast processor but together with a massive display that is the largest currently available on any model.
Thanks to its large screen the new Titan will not appeal to anybody looking for a compact phone. At 131.5mm tall and 70.7mm wide the phone is very big although the the slim 9.9mm depth is appealing and in practice does make the unit feel a little less chunky. At 160 grammes in weight the phone does not feel too bulky when in use and thanks to the excellent build quality always present on HTC handsets it feels premium and well constructed. The screen on this model measures 4.7 inches which is half an inch larger than handsets such as the Samsung Galaxy S2 and the HTC Sensation. Despite the larger display the screen offers a resolution of 480 x 800 which is the same as many models with a smaller display. A result of this is that the pixels per inch rating of this device is lower than many of its rivals at 199. The screen does however offer a great quality of image which is partly thanks to the excellent S-LCD panel that it uses. A screen the size of the one offered on the Titan requires a fast processor in order to work perfectly and HTC have duly obliged by installing a very quick 1.5Ghz chip in this model. Despite not offering dual cores the processor easily handles all manner of tasks both efficiently and at very high speed.
One area which is really impressive on the new HTC Titanis its excellent photography facility. The phone sports a still camera capable of capturing images in an 8 mega pixel resolution. This makes the Titan one of the better handsets available in this area. The camera offers a dual LED flash which means that picture quality in dark conditions has improved over earlier models that sported just the single flash. What also impresses about the phones camera facility is the number of applications that the model offers that make use of this facility. There are programs available that enable you to take burst shots or a panorama feature which captures an image with a very wide field of vision which is perfect for scenery. Video wise the Titan offers 720P HD capture which means the result look fantastic on the phones large display.
The obvious attraction of the HTC Titan is its large screen which makes the phone superb for web browsing and video playback. The model also sports a very fast processor and the updated Windows 7 OS which contribute to the excellent overall appeal of this handset.
The HTC Titan and the HTC Sensation are available now.
