HTC Desire Goes Pay As You Go - Prepay HTC Desire Phone

The highest specification mobile phone from HTC is now available as a Pay As You Go handset, the HTC Desire is an Android powered device with a huge 3.7 inch AMOLED touch screen very similar to the Google Nexus One which is manufactured by HTC for Google.

The manufacturer has included some nice extras in its own Desire model not present in the previous Nexus One with the most noticeable being the inclusion of the HTC Sense user interface. This is found on many of the previous models and users find it provides a smooth experience when navigating the menu system and personalising the home screens with their favourite widgets.

Being an Android phone the HTC Desire offers access to the ever expanding Android Market, users can download new applications for information, entertainment and business to populate their phone.
Alongside the large touch screen, HTC have also opted for a new optical track pad as opposed to the physical trackball of the Nexus One. This same function is found in the recently launched HTC Legend and negates any wear and tear by allowing you to swipe you finger across the track pad and click the outer ring to select features.

On the reverse of the handset is a 5.0 mega pixel camera which is capable of recording video in HD quality, this same technology is found in very few phones with the recently launch Sony Ericsson Vivaz being the latest. Other features include WiFi, HSDPA, 3.5G support for fast download speeds and one very important addition not featured in the Nexus One; Flash 10.1 support.

The HTC Desire does have competition from a couple of other Android handsets currently on the market, not least from the Nexus One but also the newly introduced Sony Ericsson Xperia X10. This offers an even bigger touch screen at 4 inches alongside a powerful 8 mega pixel camera.

This latest Pay As You Go launch for the Desire handset means that the phone is now more accessible to a bigger market share, many people struggle to pass the credit checks set by the networks in order to gain a phone on a pay monthly contract deal. The prepay system does not require a consumer to pass these checks, the system is also ideal for those who do not want to commit to a long term contract.

The HTC Desire is now available on the Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone networks with further network releases expected soon, O2 have already confirmed that they will be stocking this powerful new HTC device on their full range of tariffs.
