Sony Ericsson Vivaz Red Launches - Ruby Red Vivaz on Vodafone

A third colour variant of the new Sony Ericsson Vivaz has now been released, the Ruby Red edition has now been launched on a range of Vodafone pay monthly deals from free and makes for a vibrant alternative to the previous models.

Joining the Black and Silver Sony Ericsson Vivaz models, known correctly as the Cosmic Black and Moon Silver Vivaz this latest Ruby Red model encases the very same features and specifications inside a beautiful new metallic red finish.

The Red Sony Ericsson Vivaz has a unique selling point in that it can record HD quality video clips at 720p resolution, this alongside an 8.1 mega pixel camera with a whole host of imaging features makes for a great photographic phone.

Other features of the Sony Ericsson Vivaz red edition include a new curved design which fits the hand comfortably called 'human curvature', this makes for a very ergonomic shape to the Vivaz when holding the phone to your ear in conversation.

There is also a comprehensive multimedia player and FM radio with a 3.5mm audio jack, this allows you to use your own standard headphones rather than those supplied in the packaging. The most noticeable feature of this  new phone though has to be its large 3.2 inch touch screen display which produces a 360 x 640 pixel resolution and dominates the front of the handset.

Other features include WiFi for connections on the go, 3.5G support for speedy downloads, a 720MHz processor for a smooth user experience and an expandable memory with a handy 8Gb MicroSD card included in the box.

Competition in the current market comes in the form of the previous Sony Ericsson Satio which in theory the Vivaz is an upgrade to, as well as Samsung i8910 which also records video in HD quality.

When looking at the other specifications of this device many are matched by other manufacturers, especially the 3.2 inch screen, WiFi and GPS which seem to be making their way into many of the recently released models. These include the Nokia N97 Mini and Nokia X6 as well as the Samsung Omnia 2 and LG GW620 plus the new HTC HD Mini although all offer a 5.0 mega pixel camera rather than the 8.1 of the Vivaz.

This latest red edition of the Sony Vivaz is initially a network exclusive phone for Vodafone, once the limited time period (usually around 30 days) has finished then other networks will be able to pick up this great new colour scheme.

No other networks have yet confirmed that they will be stocking the ruby red edition although rumours point towards an Orange release some time in the future.

There is one more colour variant to join the red, silver and black Sony Ericsson Vivaz collection and this is called the Galaxy Blue edition, again no word on a release date as yet but it shouldn't be far away.
