The Excellent HTC 7 Pro-Super Performance On The Orange Network

The HTC 7 Pro is the latest Windows 7 handset added to their range, joining the likes of the 7 Mozart and the HD 7. Where the Mozart boasted of its media facilities and the HD 7 its screen, the trump card in this new models deck is that it sports a high quality full QWERTY keypad.

An impressive aspect of this new model is the compactness of the chassis. The addition of a keypad normally makes the handset very chunky, but in this instance the Pro measures just 15.5mm, around 3-4mm thicker than the average slimline smartphone. Combined with the measurements of 117.5 height and 59mm width, you have a phone that offers maximum functionality for minimal size. The rounded edges of the phone make handling comfortable, and when using the slide out keypad the screen meets the keys at an angle that makes it ideal for using on a flat surface. Alternatively you have the option of two virtual keypads on screen, both very responsive thanks to the capacitive touch panel. The screen itself measures 3.6 inches, ideal for a model such as this as any bigger would make the phone impractical given the extra size the keypad adds. At 480 x 800 resolution, the TFT panel offers great image quality with an accelerometer chip automatically rotating the screen when necessary. The usual array of ports can be found situated around the sides of the phone, with a 3.5mm headphone jack allowing multiple headphones to be used for music playback and the micro USB socket to allow easy link up with a home PC or Laptop.

The HTC 7 Pro runs on the impressive new Windows 7 operating system, giving a colourful homescreen very different from the horizontal scrolling types we are used to with phone such as the iPhone 4. Not only is the display colourful, but offers the user various information direct to the homescreen. As with most HTC handsets, the range of multi media facilities impresses. The built in camera can capture 5 million pixel resolution images, with the help of an LED flash should conditions require it. Face detection also helps focus on the faces within a frame. If you wish to shoot video footage the Pro has the ability to film in high definition quality, giving you excellent quality of 720P at 30 frames per second.

HTC have unveiled another excellent handset with the 7 Pro, combining the usual mix of great features with the added attraction of a high quality Qwerty keypad, making this model the one with perhaps the widest appeal of all.
