The Samsung Galaxy Note And The HTC Titan-Which Model Comes Out On Top
The battle between Android and Windows operating systems looks to be hotting up over the coming months. The launch of the newest Mango version of the Windows OS is imminent and HTC have unveiled what is arguably the most impressive Windows model to date in the shape of the new Titan. Android have hit back however thanks to Samsung and their powerful large screen device the Galaxy Note. We compare these two models and see which one comes out on top.
There is no question that both of these handsets are amongst the most powerful phones currently available. The Samsung Galaxy Note boasts a powerful Exynos chipset that ensures that the model delivers great performance speeds. This set up includes a powerful dual core 1.4 Ghz processor which is coupled with a huge 1GB of RAM. A high quality Mali 400MP graphics processing unit also forms part of the internal make up of the device and it is evident that there are very few models currently available that can rival the overall power of this phone. The HTC Titan is also very impressive in this department thanks to a powerful Scorpion 1.5Ghz processor and an Adreno 205 GPU. One area that is slightly disappointing however is the RAM memory where just 512MB is on offer. Both phones are incredibly powerful but the Samsung certainly comes out on top in this area.
The displays featured on these models are two of the biggest that you are likely to find on a modern smartphone. The Titan sports a large 4.7 inch screen that uses the very latest S-LCD technology to produce images that are both vivid and with great viewing angles. Overall resolution of the screen is 480 x 800 which equates to a pixels per inch rating of 199. The Samsung Galaxy Noteoffers the larger screen of the two models with its 5.3 inch Super AMOLED display. Samsung have wisely worked hard on the resolution of this display and at 800 x 1280 it produces a massive pixels per inch rating of 275 which puts it streets ahead of the HTC model.
Both models incorporate excellent digital still camera facilities that are capable of capturing images at a resolution of 8 million pixels. The Galaxy Note does however manage to include a few extra features that ensures that the model is superior in this area. Face Detection ensures the camera is focusing on peoples faces within your photograph whilst smile detection captures the shot at the precise moment that the subjects are smiling. The secondary front camera on this model also offers a high quality 2 mega pixel resolution as compared to the 1.3 mega pixels offered on the Titan. If video capture is more of your thing then both models do support high definition filming but whereas the Titan does so at 720P quality the Samsung device raises the bar to the excellent 1080P standard.
If size is not to much of a concern for you then these are two must have models for the coming months. The HTC Titan is the perfect device for experiencing the Windows OS but the Samsung Galaxy Note proves the better device in most areas.
The Samsung Galaxy Note is coming soon and the HTC Titan is available now.
