SportTech revolution continues with announcement of latest cohort of Sport Tech Hub start-ups

  • Ten new start-ups to join London Sport technology incubator programme, as first revealed at Active London 2019
  • Successful businesses drawn from nearly 100 applications submitted by start-ups in nine countries
  • Latest programme cohort to focus on themes including Active Health, Urban Living, Children and Young People, and the Reimagining Physical Activity

A cohort of ten early-stage SportTech start-ups will join London Sport’s Sport Tech Hub incubator programme this month, following an initial announcement at last week’s Active London conference. The new cohort, which marks the third since the incubator programme’s launch in 2017, was drawn from almost 100 applications made by businesses from nine countries around the world.

Since its first cohort joined the programme in 2017, Sport Tech Hub has supported 25 start-ups which collectively represent some of the most exciting digital innovations working to shape the future of physical activity and sport. Alongside an immersive programme of strategic guidance and mentoring, the new cohort of Sport Tech Hub start-ups will be given the opportunity to access and work alongside London Sport’s network of community physical activity and sport stakeholders as part of the organisation’s wider efforts to embed innovative digital technology solutions into the capital’s efforts to increase population-level engagement with physical activity and sport.

London Sport Specialist Advisor – Technology for Participation, Alex Zurita, said:

This new cohort of Sport Tech Hub start-ups offer an exciting glimpse of the future of physical activity right here in London.

“In the two years since its launch, Sport Tech Hub has offered a platform to connect the capital’s sport sector with the thriving SportTech innovation movement and I am confident that the ten start-ups joining this year’s programme will make a valuable, long-term contribution to London’s future health.”
