Quartiers’ wholly owned hotel Boho Club named Spain’s best luxury boutique hotel

The Boho Club hotel and restaurant concept, established by Quartiers at one of its properties on Marbella’s Golden Mile, has been named Spain’s best luxury boutique hotel by the Spain Luxury Hotel Awards.

Boho Club won the accolade following its nomination, fending off competition from the likes of Relais & Chateux Heritage Hotel in Madrid and Hotel Royal Garden Villas. Other prize winners included Madrid’s Rosewood Villa Magna Hotel, named best luxury city hotel, and The Ritz Carlton Abama, best luxury family hotel.

The judging panel was made up of representatives from leading companies and institutions such as LVMH (owner of luxury brands Louis Vuitton and Dom Pérignon) and international hospitality business school Les Roches. The panel considered factors such as the guest experience, customer service, design and overall experience.

“This award is testament to the amazing work that the whole Quartiers team has done in developing the Boho Club brand and business. Winning the title of Spain’s best boutique hotel with a concept that’s been created relatively recently and during the pandemic is really impressive. We’re now on our way out of the pandemic, with better market conditions ahead and fewer operating challenges. There’s no doubt that the inclusion of such a strong brand in our portfolio will soon have a positive impact on both our income statement and balance sheet,” said Quartiers CEO Marcus Johansson Prakt.

Quartiers Properties operates in Spain in the province of Málaga on the Costa del Sol, a market shown by a number of studies to be the fastest-growing property market in Spain. Growth in the region is due to a combination of increasing domestic demand, the region’s climate with over 320 days of sunshine a year, excellent national and international communications, and technological developments enabling more people to live in the region while retaining links to friends, family and work in their home country. Quartiers is active in two main segments; Property Value Creation and Property Development. Both business areas aim to generate value in the current property portfolio in different ways. In the Property Development segment this is done by developing carefully designed concepts for villas and apartments, which are then marketed and sold. The Property Value Creation segment focuses on transforming underperforming properties in a way that leverages each property’s unique characteristics, to enable a higher valuation when the property is either sold or revalued for refinancing on improved loan terms.
