Hitta Agnetha - av Réal Laplaine
Hitta Agnetha is the Swedish translation of my newest book, Finding Agnetha, the story of an eleven year-old boy who wants nothing more than to become an artist, and who's icon is ABBA. But first, he sets himself the goal to get to Sweden and to convince Agnetha Fältskog to get the band together again, to do a live, world-wide performance. The young boy has thousands of followers, through the internet, and as his adventure progresses, with police in America and Sweden searching after run-away boy, the whole world watches on in anticipation of an ABBA concert, and it becomes a tidal wave of enthusiasm and media. The only problem is that ABBA itself has not agreed to do the concert, and the young boy finds himself up against his largest obstacle - the band itself. A story about pursuing one's dream, and never giving up in the face of any barriers. A good-feel read, and for those of you who wished that ABBA would perform again, the story has a nostalgic weave that carries the reader through to the end, to find out if it ever happens.
The book debuts at the Swedish book fair, Göteborg Book Fair, 22-25 Sept 2011, and from there, I am confident it will find its way into the hands of publishers for both the Swedish market, and other countries as well. Advance copies will be on sale at the book fair during those days.
