Invitation: Opening Press Conference of the Ruhrtriennale 2018

We hereby wish to warmly invite you to the opening press conference of the Ruhrtriennale 2018.

When?     Wednesday, 1 August, 11 a.m.

Where?   Dampfgebläsehaus, Jahrhunderthalle Bochum
                 An der Jahrhunderthalle 1, 44793 Bochum

At the event, the Artistic Director Stefanie Carp will give an overview of the programme of the Ruhrtriennale 2018 with a special focus on the opening week.

Among others, the guests and speakers include:

• Christoph Marthaler (Artiste associé Ruhrtriennale 2018 – 2020, director “Universe, Incomplete” and “Bekannte Gefühle, Gemischte Gesichter“)
• Anna Viebrock (stage and costumes “Universe, Incomplete” and “Bekannte Gefühle, Gemischte Gesichter“)
• Omar Abusaada (director “The Factory”)
• Friederike Tappe-Hornbostel (Head of Communication, German Federal Cultural Foundation)
• Dr. Vera Battis-Reese (Managing Director of Kultur Ruhr GmbH)

We are also looking forward to the mezzo-soprano Tora Augestad, who, accompanied by Bendix Dethleffsen, will be presenting an excerpt from Christoph Marthalers new creation “Universe, Incomplete”.

In addition, Stefanie Carp will be providing information on the discussion event “Freiheit der Künste / Freedom of Speech”, which is to be held on 18 August in the Turbinenhalle Bochum and which deals with the issues of political commitment and freedom of the arts.

Following the press conference, at a photo session on the forecourt of the Jahrhunderthalle, you will have the opportunity to gain a first impression of the “Third Space” festival centre, which is currently under construction. The group of artists and architects raumlaborberlin will be on hand to answer questions.
