Rusty Rex Rallies

Rex to Nice banger rally runs from “Reims” Just north/east of Paris to “Nice” the capital city of the Alpes Maritimes on the south coast of France. It’s open for anyone to enter a team of two or more. The rally has been carefully planned to give the best route for driving and sightseeing with only very small sections of motorway.

Each day brings a new adventure and you will be invited to participate in Rex’s daily challenges. This will decide the overall winner of the rally. Challenges are optional and fun. They are designed to help teams mix and see local points of interest. Each team can participate as much or little as they wish.

Without giving away the whole event, a brief description

The night before the big off in Reims, we’ve got a top spot in the main night life area of this great city. The banger rally will start from the pit lane of the Reims-Gueux old F1 Grand Prix motor racing circuit. It passes through some great French country side and over the border into Switzerland and on to Interlaken via some stunning Swiss lakes.

After an overnight in Interlaken we start an amazing day with the rally crossing in and out of Italy/Switzerland. With incredible sights over some of the most famous maintain passes and towns on its way to Bormio for a garden party and an overnight in this very nice spar town. Day Three is Bastille Day. Today the rally head south and drive along the shores of Lake Como here you will have the chance to see the dam from the opening scene of Gold eye (James Bond Film) and take the St Bernard pass challenge.

We will spend the night in “Val-d’Isere” partying for the excellent Bastille Day celebrations. The last day is day Four, this will finish in the city of Nice where we host the Rusty Rex Rally awards and grand banger-rally send-off Party in Nice Port. But before that it’s another massive adventure getting there. The banger-rally will pass over the highest paved road in Europe, down through some of France’s national parks and onto the route Napoléon. This is where we take in the fabulous Gorges du Verdon (land scape like the old Roadrunner cartoons). Then over the dam at Castellane head for Monte-Carlo Rallies “Col de Turini” the magnificent pass above on Monaco.

This Banger-rally shows some amazing view and uses local landmarks/places of interest. This event uses the alps and alps Maritimes for whole of the rally. If motorway driving, toll roads and hotels out of town is the type of rally you are looking for this is not it.
