Sesame Access Celebrate Opening of Disabled Lift at The Guildhall, Salisbury

Sesame Access are celebrating the opening of yet another architecturally integrated disabled lift platform, this one at The Guildhall, Salisbury; a beautiful building at the heart of the city. The lift, which has been installed so that disabled members of the public may attend everything from wedding ceremonies to council meetings, offers full access to the building without damaging the architectural integrity of the premises.

The Guildhall Salisbury is seen by many as one of Salisbury’s most historically significant buildings; it dates back to 1795 and still houses the magnificent Oak Court, which provides a unique and historic setting for weddings and conferences. The lift, which was opened by the past Mayor of the City of Salisbury, Councillor Mrs Penny Brown, has been hailed as a high-tech wonder that serves to enhance the beauty of the historic building. Installed inside the Fish Row entrance to the Guildhall, Salisbury, disabled residents of the area now have access to the grand Banqueting Hall and the Crown Court.

The past Mayor, The Right Worshipful the Mayor of the City of Salisbury, Councillor Mrs Penny Brown said of the new installation: “The Sesame Access lift will really benefit disabled users of the building ensuring greater ease of access for all. I was delighted to officially open the lift and welcome all users to The Guildhall, Salisbury whether they are attending a wedding or council meeting.”

Sesame Access are thrilled that another one of their lifts has been installed in such an important building, and their appreciation for beautifully crafted, integrated, ‘invisible’ platform lifts is stronger than ever. Their expertise in creating fully functional, high-performance lifts that integrate seamlessly with their surroundings was showcased to the fullest at The Guildhall, Salisbury, and the team are truly pleased with the results.
