50 DAYS UNTIL SCANDINAVIAN MOUNTAINS AIRPORT WELCOMES ITS FIRST FLIGHT FROM THE UK

This Friday (Nov 8) marks 50 days until the first flight from the UK touches down at the brand new Scandinavian Mountains Airport in Sweden. Europe’s most convenient ski flight takes just two hours from London Heathrow with bus transfers to the hugely popular resort of Sälen in Sweden in as little as 10 minutes. Award-winning Trysil, just over the border in Norway, is only 40 minutes away.

The new SAS route, commencing on December 28th, gives Brits the chance to experience incredible Scandinavian skiing and après ski with the absolute minimum of fuss. Ski in ski out accommodation, transfers, ski school, gear hire, lift passes and childcare from six months are all provided by SkiStar, owners and operators of Sälen and Trysil, and bookable through skistar.com. The day’s entertainment doesn’t end with the last run; waterparks, bowling alleys, spas, live shows from ski school mascot Valle and restaurants offering everything from fine dining to pub grub are all on offer in the resorts.

For those wishing to get their holiday off to a flying start, dog sled transfers to Sälen from the new airport are the ideal introduction to the breathtaking beauty of the Scandinavian mountains.

Mathias Lindström, Sales and Marketing Director at SkiStar, says: “Sälen and Trysil are long-established favorites with the domestic and Northern European markets and both have benefitted from significant investment to bring them to a truly world-class standard. In partnership with SAS, we’re delighted to be able to introduce UK skiers to the elegant, efficient and family-focused Scandinavian way of skiing.”
