Condé Nast Traveller has just announced the results of its annual Readers’ Choice Awards, where SkiStar Hemsedal proudly takes eighth place on the list of Europe’s best ski resorts. At the top of the list are world-famous destinations such as Val d’Isère, Kitzbühel and Gstaad – further down appear Verbier, St. Moritz and Norway’s very own Hemsedal.
At the Interalpin in Innsbruck the leading ski resorts, including Compagnie des Alpes (France), KitzSki (Austria), Kronplatz (Italy), LAAX (Switzerland), Levi Ski Resorts (Finland), NZSki (New Zealand), Oberstdorf Kleinwalsertal Bergbahnen (Germany), and SkiStar (Sweden, Norway) officially launched the Global Sustainability Ski Alliance – the first-ever initiative of its kind in the ski industry.
Low-cost airline easyJet strengthens its presence in Scandinavia and launches two new direct routes from the UK to Scandinavian Mountains Airport – the gateway to Sweden's largest ski area SkiStar Sälen and Norway's largest ski resort SkiStar Trysil. From Saturday, December 6, 2025, British travelers will be able to fly directly from both London Gatwick (LGW) and Manchester (MAN).
SkiStar has been presented with the industry organisation SLAO's inaugural Sustainability Award in recognition of its ground-breaking pilot project, which aims to establish a fossil-free ski resort in Hammarbybacken.
Preparations for the 2024/25 winter season are well underway at SkiStar’s destinations in Sweden and Norway. SkiStar saw a significant increase in British skiers across SkiStar’s resorts last winter, and the guests enjoyed reliable skiing conditions throughout the season. With the British skiers in mind, SkiStar introduce several exciting updates this coming season.
