The winter season will soon be here again and there are lots of new developments at all of SkiStar’s destinations for young and old alike. Besides improving snow production, we’re also continuing to work on everything from hire and sale of used ski clothing and skis to providing more activities like snow parks and ski cross courses and increasing digitisation for a more carefree experience.
Winter 2022/23 in Sälen offers many exciting new facilities, including a new button lift and new children's area in Lindvallen, new cross-country trails on the mountain, improved snow access and new, improved lighting.
There are lots of exciting developments in the 2022/23 winter season in Åre and Vemdalen, from improved snow production, longer opening hours and expansion of the Skalet Turisten parade slope to a brand new SkiStar Snow Park in Duved developed in collaboration with SkiStar ambassador and Olympic medallist Jesper Tjäder. The new six-seater Stjärnliften lift will also open in Åre.
Soon it will finally be time for another winter season and at SkiStar Trysil is preparing for another season full of content with something for both young and old skiers. As Norway's largest ski destination, Trysil has something for absolutely everyone. In addition to improved snow production, improved slopes and more lighting, the popular Høgekspressen lift will have increased capacity.
With Norway's most varied range of alpine skiing, the longest season and one of Northern Europe's highest lifts at 1450 metres, Hemsedal has something for every skier. Continuous development of the offer strengthens the position as Scandinavia's answer to the Alps. SkiStar Hemsedal will open this winter with an updated Fjellheisen lift, a new park, a carving piste and more evening-lit runs.
Summer skiing opened today at Stockholm Hammarbybacken, Sweden's first modern alpine skiing arena with artificial grass. The SummerSki venture is an important milestone in the company's move towards year-round activities, which can now also be enjoyed in the middle of the capital. First to try out the slope at the launch was none other than World Cup skier Kristoffer Jakobsen.
Top freeskier and Olympic medallist Jesper Tjäder is to join SkiStar's national team and become one of the company's ambassadors. Jesper's main responsibility will be to jointly develop SkiStar Snow Parks under the "SkiStar Snow Park by Jesper Tjäder" at SkiStar's mountain destinations for all ages and levels already under construction in the new Stockholm Hammarbybacken.
SkiStar will finally open its new Stockholm Hammarbybacken to the public with Sports & Adventures being launched in the capital on 24 June. The staycation trend is here to stay and due to the high demand for SkiStar destinations in the summer, a new adventure centre is now opening for all active Stockholmers and visitors in the middle of the city.

In line with the strong trend in Sweden and the increase in the number of people wanting to be active all year round, SkiStar is investing heavily in SkiStar Sports & Adventures at the new SkiStar Stockholm Hammarbybacken activity centre. This will be a first in Sweden, offering modern summer skiing in the heart of the capital - SkiStar SummerSki - along with many other new attractions.
