The fun, easy-to-use VAIO E Series range of multimedia laptops grows today, with two further great value additions to the recently launched VAIO E Series 15”. The VAIO E Series range is united by a uniform and unique design identity and a variety of screen size options, meaning customers can choose the perfect laptop to suit their individual requirements.

With a vibrant, colourful exterior, the new VAIO E Series 14” is perfect for everyday browsing, blogging or simply enjoying your digital media collection. And offering huge storage capacity, powerful graphics and an extra-large screen in a beautifully slim chassis, the new VAIO E Series 17” is the ultimate HD entertainment machine for all the family.

VAIO E Series 14”

Designed to stand out from the crowd, the VAIO E Series 14” makes an unmistakeable style statement. It’s available in a gloss white finish for those who prefer the classic look, or vivid pink, blue and green colourways that are guaranteed to get you noticed. The range also features an exclusive UK step-up model in gloss black, featuring Blu-ray capability.

A silver VAIO logo is clearly visible on the top of the chassis, emphasising the depth of the high-gloss finish. Inside, there’s a tactile, low-resistance touchpad that integrates seamlessly into the palm rest.

With super sharp 1600x900 resolution and wide 16:9 aspect ratio, the 14” VAIO Display with LED backlight offers a colourful, high-contrast view of movies, digital photos and more.

VAIO E Series 17”

With its super-size screen and elegantly slim chassis that looks sensational in any living space, the new VAIO E Series 17” is a fully-featured desktop replacement that offers great value for all your home computing needs.

Whether you’re editing photos or just browsing the web, you’ll enjoy a high-contrast, detail-packed picture on the generously-sized 17.3” VAIO Display with LED backlight. The step-up EC1S1E/BJ model also offers Full HD (1920x1080) resolution for an even more breathtaking view of your digital photos or movies on Blu-ray Disc™.

The beautifully responsive keyboard is enhanced by a full-sized numeric keypad for comfortable, high-speed data entry, whether you’re gaming or catching up on household finances.

There’s space inside the slim yet sizeable chassis for up to two hard disk drives. With a maximum 500GB of storage, there’s plenty of room to accommodate the biggest media collections.

Each of the new E Series models has been designed with everyday ease of use firmly in mind. The WEB button enables users to start surfing without needing to boot up the PC. For added convenience, Quick Web Access now offers not only multiple tabbed browsing but also a ‘split’ view that’s great for browsing two web pages side-by-side.

Three side-mounted USB ports are accompanied by a fourth high-speed eSATA/USB port that allows super-fast file transfers to an external drive up to five times faster than via USB 2.0.

Unique to VAIO, a choice of applications by Sony helps you get even more enjoyment from your personal media collection. Launched with the front panel VAIO button, Media Gallery offers a refreshingly intuitive way to explore your music, photo and video collection. Sorting, editing and sharing your favourite moments is easier than ever with PMB (Picture Motion Browser) VAIO Edition.       

The latest VAIO E Series 14” and 17” multimedia notebook computers will be available in the UK from May 2010.
