Bronze for Piovesana and Macdonald at European cadet judo championships

SportsAid athletes Lubjana (Lulu) Piovesana (see photo) and Neil Macdonald both won bronze medals last week at the European cadet judo championships.

Lulu's came in the women's -63kg category while Neil's came in the men's -60kg category.

British Judo's Matt Divall described it as a tough event but said there was "lots of good judo on show and a lot of tactical moves.

"Lots to work on but on the whole, the whole team aren't far away," he added.

Lulu's SportsAid Award (2014) comes from SSE's Next Generation programme while Neil's (2013) was from the Bank of Scotland Local Heroes scheme.
