British Stammering Association Appoint Kate Dickson as Communications Director

London, 21st December, 2018 – The British Stammering Association (BSA) today announced that Kate Dickson has been appointed Communications Director. Responsible for all external and internal communications for the charity, Kate will lead the rollout of the organisation’s new awareness campaign, Stamma, set to launch early 2019. Kate will report to BSA CEO Jane Powell and begins her new role on 3rd January.

“It is a truly exciting time for The British Stammering Association and I’m honoured to be joining the team,” said Kate Dickson. “Stammering is a part of my life so I understand the impact it can have and the many misconceptions people hold about the condition. I cannot wait to start working with the BSA and its members to unveil Stamma and change the way the world sees stammering.”

Jane Powell added: “The British Stammering association is embarking upon an ambitious five-year plan and I think that Kate is just the person to elevate our profile and shine a spotlight on stammering. Her personal experience with stammering as well as her impressive career make Kate a perfect fit for the role of Communications Director. This appointment makes our team complete and I’m excited for the initiatives and campaigns that lie ahead.”

Kate joins The British Stammering Association from Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) where she worked as Communications Director for the kids’ entertainment brands: Nickelodeon UK and Channel 5’s Milkshake! Kate is a seasoned communications professional with over 15 years’ experience working across the private, public and not for profit sector. Kate’s appointment follows the previously announced appointment of Rachel Everard to the new role of Service Director at the BSA. Rachael will begin in February.
