  • Conference for Parents & Children who stammer, 27th August, Liverpool University

    Help us to promote free places for children and parents who are Speech and Language Therapy clients living in Liverpool or Sefton. This one day conference aims to give children and teenagers who stammer a chance to connect with others and provide a space for parents of young people who stammer to share their experiences.

    STAMMA, The British Stammering Association, is urging broadcasters, including Netflix, Amazon Prime, Apple TV and the BBC, to include people who stammer on the small and silver screen in a love letter on social media, supported by organisations around the world representing those who stammer/stutter.

  • Apple Devices Link 'Woozy Face' Emoji to Stammering

    STAMMA, the British Stammering Association, have been contacted by hundreds of members who have found that a ‘woozy face’ 🥴 emoji automatically appears on their phone or ipad when typing in the word ‘stammering’.

  • STAMMA SUPPORTS LAUNCH OF BBC STAMMERING NETWORK

    The BBC will launch its Internal Stammering Support Network tomorrow. This follows hard on the footsteps of ‘I Can’t Say My Name’, an acclaimed documentary which aired on March 10th this year, after which its presenter, Felicity Baker, was inundated by messages of support from the public as well as from staff at the Corporation.

  • Combined STAMMA Conference & ISA World Congress 2022 to be held in Liverpool

    STAMMA, the British Stammering Association, are delighted to announce that they will be hosting the 2022 International Stuttering Association (ISA) World Congress in Liverpool. This will be combined with STAMMA’s own biennial conference. The conference will be held on 24th-28th of August 2022 at the University of Liverpool.

  • Jonty Claypole New Patron at STAMMA

    Following publication of his book, 'Words Fail Us; In Defence of Disfluency', Jonty Claypole, outgoing Director of BBC Arts, has joined Scroobius Pip, Margaret Drabble, Kelly Brown, David Mitchell and others as Patron of the British Stammering Association.
