Press release -

Join the Bundy family for a Sparkling Afternoon Tea to support stroke!

Following the death of Tony Bundy from a stroke last June, the family, who live in Tullibody, Clackmannanshire, are hosting a Sparkling Afternoon Tea on Sunday 2 Juneat 2.30pm at the Falkirk Stadium. They want as many people as possible to come along, support a good cause, and join the Bundy family in marking the anniversary of the death of their husband and father, Tony.

Since Tony’s death, the family has been calling for a review of medical advice on strokes to raise awareness of less well-known symptoms. They are happy to announce that after a recent meeting with the Cabinet Minister Neil Gray MSP that this review is now going to take place.

Despite the devastating circumstances, the family decided to do something positive, and have been raising funds for the Stroke Association since Tony passed away. The Stroke Association aims to prevent strokes, and support people affected by stroke.

Selena Bundy, wife of Tony, said:

“Life has been tough since the death of my husband. We believe his condition was not picked up using routine tests. We have been campaigning hard on this issue, and we hope to see positive change to help people displaying the lesser-known signs of stroke, to stop this tragedy happening to others.

“We’d love you to come along, to help in our awareness and fundraising efforts, and support your local community. It will also be a great opportunity to hear from some of your local representatives and catch up with others in your area.”

Andrea Watt, Relationship Fundraiser – Scotland said:

“Stroke is the fourth most common cause of death in Scotland, and a leading cause of disability. We rely on the help and support of our communities to help rebuild lives, for people affected by stroke.

“We are thrilled with the fundraising efforts the Bundy family has made, totaling a healthy sum, in such sad circumstances.

“The funds which are raised from this event will go towards research into new treatments for stroke, campaigning activities to support stroke improvements, and to help people affected by stroke to get back to life again.”

Thank you to the Bundy family for highlighting this devastating condition, and to you for joining The Bundy’s on 2 June.

Tickets can be booked here.
