Local stroke survivor calls on Surrey to vote in the 2020 Charity Film Awards

The Stroke Associationhas been unveiled on the shortlist for the 2020 Charity Film Awards. Now, one of the stars of the charity’s Rebuilding Lives film, ten year old Max Davenport and his Mum, Michelle from Surrey, are calling on all of the county to vote for the film.

The Charity Film Awards celebrates the effective use of video by the third sector to change mindsets, raise awareness for the charity or fundraise.

Over 65,000 people took part in the public voting stage to determine the shortlist. The Charity Film Awards panel of expert judges, which includes high profile names from entertainment, business, politics and media. The winners of the Charity Film Awards 2020 will be announced a gala ceremony in central London, in the Spring.

Maxstarred in the Stroke Association’s Rebuilding Lives film when he was just nine years old. The advert aims to change the way people think about stroke, using stroke survivors’ real stories. Max’s Mum, Michelle said: “We were so honoured that Max was able to appear in the advert when he was just eight. As a family, we never knew a child could have a stroke, now I realise stroke can happen to anyone, at any age and that’s scary. I am now so passionate about raising awareness of stroke in children.

“We would be so grateful if everyone can vote for the Stroke Association’s Rebuilding Lives advert. The more recognition it can get and the more people can see it will mean we can spread more awareness.”
