Stroke Association and Gorkana Group scoop major industry award

The Stroke Association and Gorkana Group have won a top global award for a hard-hitting health awareness campaign to highlight the emotional impact of stroke.

The charity’s Action on Stroke Month 2013 came top of the AMEC* media evaluation awards for Best Use of Communication Management: Not-for-Profit.

The award recognises best practice in the measurement of print, broadcast and digital media PR and communications campaigns.

Anil Ranchod, Assistant Director of External Affairs at the Stroke Association, said: “This is a tremendously proud moment for the charity. We’re delighted that our work to bring vital services closer to stroke survivors and their families has been recognised with this award.”

By developing clear, measureable objectives from the outset, the charity was able to measure the effectiveness of the communications strategy for Action on Stroke Month 2013.

The 12th annual AMEC Awards took place alongside the International Summit on Measurement in Amsterdam. The awards celebrate exceptional work which puts programme research, measurement and evaluation on the PR agenda.
