Press release -

The Stroke Association and Petersfield Spring Fair set out to conquer stroke during Make May Purple

The Stroke Association has teamed up with Petersfield Spring Fair to offer free blood pressure checks on Sunday 28 May from 10am to 3:30pm.

Local residents can visit the Stroke Association at the fair for a free blood pressure check, and also find out more information about stroke. The charity will also be offering advice to residents on how to keep their blood pressure under control.

The event takes place in Make May Purple, the Stroke Association’s national stroke awareness month. Across the UK, more than a million people are rebuilding their lives after stroke. By supporting Make May Purple you are can help us to make sure stroke gets the attention it deserves and to raise vital funds for innovative research into stroke care and treatment.

Mandy Souter, Six Month Review Coordinator at the Stroke Association, said: “High blood pressure is often referred to as the silent killer because it doesn’t present any symptoms and many people have no idea their health may be at risk. A simple and painless test could prevent a devastating stroke.

“Getting your blood pressure checked is easy and quick. We hope to see many people from Petersfield at our stand; it’s a simple way to reducing your risk of having a stroke.”
