Unearthed helps to raise awareness of Stroke during Action on Stroke Month

A play set in the West Country, Unearthed, will be helping to raise awareness of the impact of stroke during Action on Stroke month. The Production from Folio Theatre will be touring across the South West throughout the month of May.

‘Unearthed’ tells the story of estranged twins Eliza (Lizzie Stables) and Ben, played by actor Jeremy Lloyd (Somerset Born and bred) who are forced back together on a quest to honour the unusual wishes in their late father’s will.

Eliza and Ben’s father suffers a stroke, which renders him severely disabled and the brother and sister’s plans turn upside down. Amy Binley from the Stroke Association adds; “A stroke happens in an instant but its effects last a lifetime.Eliza and Ben’s experience shows the devastating impact that a stroke can have not only on the stroke survivor but also their family.”

Folio Theatre Company has chosen to support two charities through this Production. The Stroke Association and Carers Trust UK.

Amy Binley from the Stroke Association adds; “We are grateful to Folio Theatre Company for inviting us to several of their productions to raise awareness of stroke.During the month of May we aim to raise awareness of stroke and funds to help us continue our work in supporting stroke survivors and their family.”
